“Everybody needs a thneed, a fine thing all people need~”
The soft male voice carried itself throughout the town and in through your window, worming their way into your ears and mind until you caught yourself humming along. Every day for the last week the same boy had come into town, singing the same song while strumming along with the same guitar with the same pink scarf wrapped around his neck. After the first day, you’d found the tune stuck in your head, even though you’d only heard it partially thanks to little Sophia throwing a tomato in his face – followed by the rest of the townspeople. You could see why, after all, the song wasn’t that good nor did it properly describe what a ‘Thneed’ was or why anyone should buy it. Still though, even after being pelted by tomatoes day after day, the boy came back. At least you could say he was determined.
